Holiday Favorites

It's been years since I watched any of the Holiday movies that I watched as a child.

This year, it's been so much fun to watch my kiddos as they watch these same movies.

Photobucket

I just love the holidays ( and those two munchkins too)!

Counting Down The Days

Christmas will be here very soon.

Photobucket

They are still being good (when reminded that Santa is watching them, of course).

And we are counting down the days until his arrival.

Such a fun time with the munchkins!

Made With Love

Sweet little hand.

So tiny and small.

It fits so perfectly in my own hand.

Now captured for me to forever remember.

Photobucket

Words can't describe how much I love this.

The Christmas Program

He's a big-boy now.

He's in big-boy preschool.

Photobucket

We attended his big-boy Christmas program

where he sang big-boy songs

with all his big-boy friends.

Photobucket

Why are preschoolers so much fun to watch?

Oh yeah, it's because they are so unpredictably cute.

I hope you have a blessed Holiday!

Full Swing Holiday Mode

We are in full swing holiday mode here at the house.

Photobucket

A few things I learned while constructing our gingerbread house:

1. These munchkins like candy. OK, I already knew that, but I learned that they like eating candy much more than they like sticking it on a gingerbread cookie house.

2. Gingerbread cookies break when dropped on the floor - especially the gingerbread trees.

3. Our dog, Maddie, loves to eat the tops of gingerbread trees. Who knew?

4. When decorated, it's pretty easy to pass off a "Christmas Bush" in lieu of a Christmas tree.

5. I cared much more about symmetry and order when constructing this than I thought I would.

6. The munchkins cared nothing for symmetry and order when constructing this.

7. These munchkins think they get to eat this "Cookie House Cake" (as they call it) after Christmas.

8. I'm debating if I should let them have a nibble or just throw it away. Would it be wrong if this is what we left Santa and the reindeer and they just happen to take it back to the North Pole for Mrs. Claus?

Ho Ho Ho

We got our wishes in to Santa last weekend.

My little lady wants a kitty.

My big boy wants Woody and Buzz action figures (calling them 'dolls' would be wrong, right?)

Photobucket

We will just have to see what Santa has in store for these two. He is surely busy keeping track of them. Hopefully neither of these munchkins will get a lump of coal.

Warp Speed Ahead

I'm amazed at how fast she's growing.

Barely out of the womb (just yesterday, wasn't it?), and already she's a big girl.

Photobucket

My-oh-my, how I love this little lady (and the dude behind her is pretty cool too).
These pictures were taken during her brother's Christmas program at his school. I love how cozy she looks wrapped up in her Daddy's arms. Sweetest ever . . .

Random Love

Oh how I love this image!

This is so typical for us.

Photobucket

The munchkins thought it would be fun to read stories to Dirck while he laid on the couch.

I have to agree - it looks pretty fun!

Our Family

Hopefully this will become a Christmas tradition here in the DeKeyser home.

We attended my company's Holiday party and were drawn by a caricature artist. (to see our picture last year, go here). I'm amazed that ANYONE can get my munchkins to sit still long enough to draw a likeness of them.

Photobucket

Oh, I love this. And by love, I mean LOVE! What a fun thing for us to always have!

The Trees Have Arrived

Hello December!

These munchkins are so excited to see you!

We did something a little different this year and let the kiddos get their own trees.

They have loved hanging their own special ornaments and having a tree in their room.

My little lady gets upset when the lights are off. She tells me it's broken.

Photobucket

My big boy just likes having a motorcycle on his tree . . . even cooler that it has Santa on it!

Photobucket

Yes, December - we are so glad to see you around here and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a certain large man dressed in red on December 24.

My Babies

Will there ever come a day when I quit calling them MY BABIES?

Photobucket

Maybe when they're 16 and full of angst and rolling their eyes at everything I say.

Nah . . . that won't happen.

Will it?

Photobucket

Right now, I'm just living in the moment and enjoying MY BABIES.

Photobucket

I'll deal with those sassy 16-year-olds another day.
