Independence Weekend

We all traveled down to Tablerock Lake for the weekend of the 4th to spend some time with Dirck's sister and family. This was our first "lake" trip, and already, I can't wait to go back.

My munchkins LOVED the boat and the tube. A lot of love goes out to my nieces and nephew for keeping my little people safe on the tube.

My little man asks me all the time when we are going to go back tubing. Evidently, he's an expert now.

My little lady loved the water and tubing as well - so much so, that when it wasn't her turn, she had a hard time being happy in the boat (she is 2, after all).

And my little man even got to captain the ship with the help of his Aunt Denise. Hey, big boy . . . pay attention . . . 10 and 2 . . . keep your eyes straight ahead! Clearly, I will be no fun when he is learning to drive.

Oh, and did I mention that my little lady is 2 now? And along with the sweetness and adorableness comes quite a bit of attitude . . . this is her new position when she's frustrated.

She did learn something new though . . . seems that pool water and pool noodles don't taste so good.

Photobucket

And I learned something new too . . . like how much your bones ache (I would say muscles, but it's been YEARS since I had any muscles) after tubing and trying not only to hold on to the tube, but two munchkins as well. Yep, I'm officially an "old lady."

But, it was fun. And I would do it again (sore bones and all) to hear up close and personal the laughter and squeals from these 2 excited munchkins.

Marla I have to say that I'm extremely jealous at how well you document your family's happenings. Your kids will look back and thank you some day and my kids will look back and wonder what they're childhood was like :( You've inspired me to start a family blog....now I just have to find the time to actually do it LOL!
